Mr. Wesley D. Norrell, age 53, of Potsdam, and formerly of Abilene, Texas passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at his home in the village of Potsdam, while under the care of his family and the Hospice and Palliative of the St. Lawrence Valley. There will be a memorial service at his home on Saturday at 1pm. Contributions in his memory can be made to Hospice.
Wesley is survived by his wife, Donna Norrell; 21 year old daughter, Gina Lee Norrell; 19 year old son, Andrew Thomas Norrell; six year old son, Daniel Charles Norrell; 16 month old grandson, Kristofer Michael Norrell; and sisters Beverly Rogers, Serena Norrell and Virginia Gonzalez.
He was predeceased by his parents; a grandson, Adam Kristofer Norrell; and a brother, Gerald Royce Norrell.
Wesley D. Norrell was born December 21, 1956 in Wilmer, Minnesota to the late George D. Norrell and Mavis McGowen. He then spent most of his life in Texas. He was a graduate of Abilene High School and then spent two years studying at Abilene Christian University. He served in the United States Army until his honorable discharge in 1982. Wesley worked as a computer programmer in Texas until meeting his wife Donna Mayette. They were married July 2, 1988. After moving north he went to work for Teach Services Publishing Company in Brushton where he worked as a computer programmer analyst until becoming disabled. He enjoyed working and fixing all sorts of things from computers and laptops to small engines and model airplanes.
