Funeral services for Wayne W. Moore, 58, of County Route 10, Lisbon, will be held on Thursday (June 10, 2010) at 11 a.m. at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home, Ogdensburg, with Pastor Patrick Severson officiating. Burial will follow the service at Flackville Cemetery in Lisbon.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Moore passed away Friday evening at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Surviving is his wife, Joan; two sons, Gregory Moore and companion Rachael Patterson of Ogdensburg, and Bradley Moore of Melbourne, FL; a daughter, Julie Moore and companion Phil Wagshal of Potsdam; two brothers, Donald Moore of Lisbon and James Moore and wife Sandy of Potsdam; a grandson, Garret Moore; two step-children, Lori Giocondo and her husband James of Kirkville, and Patrick Kowalchuk and wife Angie of Brasher; step-grandchildren Vinny, Nicholett and Olivia Giocondo and Tyler Nicholas and Owen Kowalchuk; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Wayne was born on July 15, 1951 in Ogdensburg, a son of the late Earl and Una (Martin) Moore. He graduated from Lisbon Central High School and attended college at SUNY Canton. After two prior marriages ended in divorce, he married Joan (Smith) on February 14, 1996. He was employed as a Therapy Aid at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center for 22 years and retired in 1990.
He enjoyed hunting, gardening, collecting Winchester riffles, the NY Yankees, NASCAR and watching John Wayne movies.
