Wayne F. Peck, 78, Surprise, AZ, and formerly of Potsdam

POTSDAM -- Wayne F. Peck died on Saturday, December 1, 2018, at 5 PM. Wayne suffered from Alzheimer's for several years and the last four years with merkel cell carcinoma.

Wayne was born July 2, 1940, in Potsdam, N.Y. His parents were Clinton and Barbara (Fuller) Peck, who preceded him in death.

He graduated from Parishville High School in 1958.

Wayne joined the U.S. Army in October 1958 where he attended electronics school. Wayne served in South Korea and the Philippines until he was honorably discharged.

On February 1, 1964, Wayne and Marlene Rhodes were joined in marriage.

Wayne was employed at General Dynamics at the ICBM missile silos in Northern N.Y. When the missile work was completed, Wayne went to work for General Electric in Syracuse N.Y.

He and his family then moved to Rome N.Y. where he worked for Honeywell’s large computer systems at Griffith Air Force Base for seven years. Wayne was then promoted from electronics hardware to software and moved his family to Buffalo N.Y. Three years later Wayne transferred to Phoenix, AZ.

Wayne became a teacher for Honeywell and traveled around the world teaching in several countries for the next five years. He then became a systems analyst and remained working in Phoenix until retirement after 35 years of employment with Honeywell.

Wayne enjoyed playing golf, cards, and being with family and friends.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marlene of Surprise, AZ, a daughter Teresa, son-in-law, Rovell Foggy of Phoenix; 2 grandsons, Derek, granddaughter-in-law, Kalyn Foggy of Phoenix, AZ, great-granddaughter, Clementine, great-grandson, Lincoln, grandson, Joshua, granddaughter-in-law, Anastasia Foggy of Grand Rapids, MI; a son, Michael, daughter-in-law, Kristin Peck of Surprise, AZ; 2 grandsons, Nolan Peck, and Cody Peck; a brother, Larry, sister-in-law, Gisela Peck of Surprise, AZ. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews and their families.

There will be a service to celebrate his life at Grace Bible Church of Phoenix at 11:00am on January 12, 2019.
