Virginia Ruth Sullivan Aubry, 87, formerly of Potsdam

Virginia, 87, was born the oldest daughter of Martin Edwin and Virginia Grace Forbes Sullivan on June 18, 1926 in Potsdam and passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2014.

She married her late husband Patrick William Aubrey on December 9, 1950. She was a wonderful, loving woman and teacher, empowering young people with knowledge, working with the San Jose Unified School System. She had a lifetime interest in the Girl and Boy Scouts; earning a Boy Scout Training Merit Medal.

She was on the Board of Directors of the American Ceremony Program Society and traveled to attend First Day Ceremonies. She belonged to ACPS, APS and AARP. She taught First Aid Courses for the Red Cross. She was a 50 year member of the D.A.R.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Pat; and her sisters, Clare and Martha.

She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Anne Jynes and Linda Aiken and her husband Roger; her son, Martin Aubrey and his wife Rhonda Tramble; grandchildren, Miranda, Cynthia Amster and her husband Troy and Jesse and his wife Erin; and great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Isabella.

Visitation was held Thursday, January 30th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary, 466 N Winchester Blvd. A Funeral was held Friday, January 31st at 1 p.m. at Hope Lutheran Church, 2383 Pacific Dr, Santa Clara.

Interment will be in Bayside Cemetery in Potsdam, at a later date. Arrangements are with the Garner Funeral Service. Online condolences can be sent
