Laird H. Chaffee, 65, W. Stockholm. Funeral services for 65 year old Mr. Laird H. Chaffee of W. Stockholm will be held Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at the Potsdam United Methodist Church with Pastor James Barnes officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the Family in the W. Stockholm Cemetery. Friends may call at the Seymour Funeral Home in Potsdam on Monday afternoon and Monday evening from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m.

If friends so desire memorial contributions may be made in his memory to The American Cancer Society.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Eileen (Smythe) Chaffee of W. Stockholm; two daughters, Jana Suzanne Seitzer of Essex Junction, VT, Erika Chaffee of Canton; two brothers, Brandt Chaffee of Mayfield and Craig Chaffee of Panama City, FL; two beautiful grandchildren; one nephew and four nieces.
 
He was born in Tupper Lake. Laird received his BA from SUNY Potsdam College. He owned and operated the Focal Point Photography Studio in Potsdam for nearly 40 years.

He was a member of American Radio Relay League Ham operators, the Clarkson University Orchestra, the Jack Kelly Little Big Band, and the W. Stockholm United Methodist Church. He was a long time member of the Potsdam Lions Club, and served on the Board of Directors for the Potsdam Chapter of the American Red Cross. Laird was also a member of several professional photography associations.

He loved to talk and visit with friends.
