Alice A. Cassidy, 88, Potsdam. Mrs. Alice A. Cassidy, age 88, of Potsdam, passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2009 at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at 10 a.m. at St. Andrew’s Church in Norwood, with Monsignor Harry Snow celebrant.

Friends may call at the Garner Funeral Home in Potsdam on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. Contributions in her memory can be made to the American Kidney Fund of Central New York @ 731 James St. Suite 200, Syracuse, NY 13203. Mrs. Alice A. Cassidy was a resident of Potsdam.

Alice is survived by a son, Gerald Bray, of Sarasota, FL; daughter Janet Stillman of Yuma, AZ; sister Laurette Brosseau of Cornwall, Ontario; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Paul Cassidy; and thirteen brothers and sisters.

Alice was born on September 13, 1921 in Cornwall, Ontario to Maxime Belanger and Eva Goulet. She attended Canadian schools. She came to the United States and started her own business. She was the owner and operator of Alice’s Beauty Shop in Unionville, NY for many years. She was married to Paul Cassidy on October 22, 1955 in Malone. Alice loved flowers, gardening and especially her snowball shrubs.
