She was predeceased by her husband, Emile Bruyere; her adoptive parents, Jessie and Alfred Bleich; and her widowed mom’s husband, Frank Amo.
Mrs. Bruyere was born on February 5, 1928 in New York City, the daughter of Alfred and Jessie Bleich. She attended school in Ogdensburg.
She was married to Emile Bruyere on July 17, 1948 at Notre Dame with Rev. Armand Brunet officiating. The couple moved to the Norwood-Norfolk area.
Music played an important part in her life. There was always a piano present in her home. She enjoyed singing and at one time sang on the radio in the U.S. and Canada. She also enjoyed hosting parties and playing cards with her friends on the weekends.
At one time, she and her husband and another couple had a community newspaper called The Raquette News – Cents in which she and her friend Barbara had a column named Dear Bev and Barb providing advice to people with problems – mostly on a humorous level.
Donations may be made in her memory to the SPCA.
