Esther L. Mitchell, 88, Morristown. Funeral services for Esther Mitchell, age 88, of 158 High Street, Morristown, will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Mitchell passed away on Monday, November 9, 2009 at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center.

Mrs. Mitchell is survived by three sons, Thomas and his wife, Kathleen, of W. Palm Beach, FL, Maynard of Bronson, MI, and Gary and his wife, Debbie, of Palm Bay, FL; one daughter, Saundra Howard and her husband, James, of Fulton; four sisters, Blanche Perkins, of Ogdensburg, Beverly Goolden, of Ogdensburg, Kathleen Vines of Lewiston, IN and Gail Hutton, of Canton; one brother, Donald Hicks, of Lisbon; and nine grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

She was predeceased by one brother, James Hicks, and one sister, Audrey Foote.

Mrs. Mitchell was born on March 27, 1921 in Morristown, the daughter of William and Hilda Corrice Hicks. She attended Morristown and Lisbon Schools. She married Thomas Mitchell. That marriage ended in divorce. Mrs. Mitchell worked as a bartender in Evans Mills and Ogdensburg.
