Alan Jeffrey Robbins, 51, Gouverneur . Alan Jeffrey Robbins, Gouverneur, died Saturday, October 31, at his home surrounded by his family. Mr. Robbins had been battling cancer for the past year.
Alan was born on December 13, 1957, in Gouverneur to Richard and Arlene (Beckstead) Robbins of Somerville. He attended Gouverneur High School and later received his GED. Mr. Robbins painted houses with Chris Ellis until 2001when he began work at E.J. Noble Hospital for five years. He was most recently employed by St. Lawrence Zinc in Balmat until they closed.
Alan married Patti Fisher on February 12, 2005. He enjoyed hunting, golf, playing pinochle as well as spending time with his family.
Surviving besides his wife are three children, a son, Jeffrey Alan Robbins from a previous marriage, and two step-daughters, Jennifer Hance of Massena and Jenette Redder of Gouverneur; six grandchildren, Carolyn, Jeffrey, Noah, Macey, Brittaney and Carlee; a sister and brother-in-law, Vicki and Richard McClare of Antwerp; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Kevin and Kathy Robbins of Baldwinsville and Rick and Carol Robbins of Louisiana; and three nieces and three nephews.
Alan was predeceased by a brother, David Robbins.
There will be no calling hours. There will be a memorial service at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, at French Funeral Home Inc., Gouverneur with Father Stephen Rocker officiating.
