Dorothy J. Carroll, 83, Ogdenburg. Funeral services for Dorothy J. Carroll, 818 Congress St., Ogdensburg, will be held on Monday, Nov. 2, at Frary Funeral Home at 10 a.m. with Rev. Terry LaValley officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Nov. 1, at Frary Funeral Home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Mrs. Carroll passed away on Thursday, Oct. 29, at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center with her loving family at her side.

Mrs. Carroll is survived by her children, Sharon Carroll of Syracuse, Tammie Bromley and her husband William of Ogdensburg and William and Mary Ashley Carroll of Potsdam. Mrs. Carroll was the proud grandmother of Lauren Morley and her husband Matt, Will and Jordan Carroll and Todd and Cory Bromley. She was also the great-grandmother of Jack Morley. She was predeceased by her parents, sister Helena, husband Charles and son, Charles Jr.

Mrs. Carroll was born on August 31, 1926, in Ogdensburg, the daughter of Howard and Thelma (Higgins) Ferris. She graduated from Heuvelton Central School. She married Charles Carroll on November 29, 1947, at St. Mary’s Cathedral with Rev. F.G. Coseo officiating. Mr. Carroll passed away in 1994. Mrs. Carroll was employed as a cashier at both the A&P and P&C grocery stores. Mrs. Carroll was a lifetime member of St. Mary’s Parish and a past president of the Knights of Columbus.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Richard E. Winters Cancer Center.

The Carroll and Bromley family’s wish to thank the staff of St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center in Syracuse and Claxton Hepburn Medical Center for their excellent care of Mrs. Carroll and support of them during this difficult time.
