Ty M. “Otis” Kennedy, 42, Massena. Mr. Ty M. “Otis” Kennedy, 42, of 132 Main Street, Massena, tragically passed away Thursday morning October 29, 2009 in Brasher from injuries he suffered in a motor vehicle accident on County Route 38.
He was born August 8, 1967 in Massena, the son of Philip E. and JoAnn M. Riley Kennedy. He graduated from Massena High School in 1985, where he also attended BOCES.
He married Diane Wagstaff on July 2, 1994 at the Emmanuel Congregational United Church of Christ, Massena.
Ty and his wife, Diane, were the current owners of the Via Main Restaurant in Massena. He worked as carpenter for various construction companies and also worked for NOCO Energy Corp in Lisbon as a salesman.
Ty was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, camping, 4-wheeling, snowmobiling, and was a member of the Flower Hill Hunting Club in Parishville. He also was a member of the Amvets. He enjoyed doing woodworking and carpentry, and was an avid NASCAR fan.
He is survived by his wife, Diane; two children, Shelby, age 12, and Zachary, age 7; both at home; his father and stepmother, Philip and Barbara Kennedy, Massena; a sister and brother-in-law, Crystal and Jeff Kearns, Massena; a brother, Scott R. Kennedy, Massena; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his mother, JoAnn on September 8, 1995.
Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, where funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. with Deacon Rick Littlejohn, officiating. Burial will held privately in Massena Center Cemetery.
