Byron, NY - Verlee E. Crosby, 50, passed away Friday, March 29, 2013 in Rochester. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, April 6th at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, Gouverneur and burial in New St. James Cemetery, Gouverneur. Calling hours are Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Green Funeral Home, Gouverneur.
Verlee was born July 27, 1962 in Alexandria Bay, the daughter of Larry and Ruth Gay Martin. She grew up near Richville and graduated from Gouverneur High School. Verlee also graduated from SUNY Brockport with a Bachelor of Science degree.
Verlee especially liked spending time with her friends and family in the outdoors enjoying nature, bird watching, and supporting environmental conservancy. In her youth, she enjoyed time in the garden and camping.

Verlee is survived by two daughters, Shelby Crosby of Byron and Therese and Michael O'Laughlin of Manchester, NH; two grandchildren, Michael O'Laughlin and Lillian O'Laughlin; her mother, Ruth Martin of Richville; a brother, Randy and Karen Martin of Richville; six sisters, Darlene Hartman of Redwood, Sue Ann Martin of Jordan, Carolyn Green of Massena, Judy Norton of Waddington, Kathleen Norman of Richville, and Maria Martin of Warsaw; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father, Larry Martin; and three brothers, Wayne, Donald, and Gregory Martin.
