OGDENSBURG -- Tammy R. Petrie passed away on Friday evening, Dec 1, at her home surrounded by her loving family. A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, December 5, at the Pleasant Lake Cemetery with Rev. Rob Schirmer officiating.
Surviving is her fiancée Vern Bylow of Ogdensburg; a son William Petrie Jr. of DePeyster; a daughter Amy Rice & her husband Bruce of Morristown; two brothers Lafayette Young Jr. of Macomb and Tony Young Ogdensburg; three sisters Melody Albert of Arizona, Penny Elliott & her husband Ferron of Hammond and Robin Young & Fiancée Jessie of Russell; three grandchildren William G. Petrie III and Devin A. Petrie and Johnathan Leeson, along with many nieces, nephews & cousins.
A daughter, Laura Weir and a brother, Kevin Young, predeceased her.
Tammy was born on September 1, 1961 in Ogdensburg NY, a daughter of the late Lafayette & Barbara (Henry) Young. She attended Morristown Central School, and was employed at ComPAS, Step by Step, Ivy Ridge and most recently at Ogdensburg Free Academy in the Cafeteria until her health declined in 2013.
She enjoyed gardening, farm animals, arts & crafts, her dog Bella, Facebook, computer games, raising wild animals and spending time with her grandchildren.
