Suzanne Marie Bilow, 48, Moira

Suzanne Marie Bilow, 48, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on May 7, 2012, after a courageous fight with a rare cancer.

Suzanne was born in Binghamton, and graduated from Vestal Senior High School in 1982. She then attended Binghamton University and graduated in 1986 with her Bachelor of Science degree. She continued on in Binghamton and graduated in 1989 with her masters degree in teaching and Spanish. In 1989 she began working at Salmon River Central Schools where she has happily been employed teaching Spanish for 23 years. 1995 she married 1995 in Vestal, at the Lady of Sorrow Church the Rev. VanAmburgh presided over the ceremony.

Suzanne was predeceased by her mother, Rose Sarnoski and Cecelia Fendrock; nephew Dylan Bilow, Uncle William Lambert, and Aunt Cecelia Zurine.

She is survived by her husband of 17 years, Wayne Bilow; her father, Val Sarnoski and his companion Carol Kvaltine; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Carl and Annabelle Bilow; a sister, Sandra (Thomas) Roberts; and extended family through marriage, Stephen and Mary Bilow, Ellen and Dennis Jock, Bonnie and Charles Vander Walker, Darryl and Charlene Bilow, Dale and Mary Bilow, Darlene and John Signor and Daniel Bilow. She will also be fondly remembered by her nieces, Nicole, Michelle, Catlin, and Ashley; nephews, James Jeremy, Brian, Tyler, Jesse, and Cody; and dearly loved by aunts and uncles, Margaret Labaert, Lillian and John Fendrock, Rosalie and Bill Fendrock, Janice and Augustine Fendrock, Regina and David Fendrock, Dorie and Ted Fendrock, and Matilda Spudnewski.

Suzanne was known by friends to be a crazy animal lover. The animals who found their way to her house enjoyed many happy years. She loved to read, swim (spending most summer days in the pool) and traveling. She also liked to dabble in hobbies such as painting, drawing, playing the piano, and guitar, and scrap booking. Suzanne loved learning the experiencing new cultures.

Visitation will be held Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the Flint Funeral Home, Moira.

A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Brushton with the Rev. Christopher lobby presiding.

The family has requested that in lieu of floral offerings; please consider monetary donations to the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center or The Hospice of the North Country.
