POTSDAM -- Shirley A. LaBaff, 70, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, just 13 days after her beloved husband.
Burial for Shirley and Roy LaBaff will be held on Monday, November 13, 2017, at 4:30 pm at St. Mary’s Cemetery with Rev. Stephen Rocker officiating.
Shirley was born on January 21, 1947, to the late Mary (Westerdick) and Alan Ramsay in Potsdam.
She graduated from Potsdam Central.
At the age of 15 Shirley and Roy stated dating. They later married on Shirley’s birthday in 1967 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Potsdam.
Shirley retired from P&C Foods as their deli manager. She then went on to work for Aramark Food Service at Clarkson University.
Surviving are a son, Thomas LaBaff; two daughters, Angeline Hoyt and Liane (JP) Bordeaux all of Potsdam; four brothers, Edward Ramsay, Scott Ramsay, Roger Ramsay and Steve Ramsay; four sisters, Linda Russell, Janet Bush, Betty MacKay and Mary Berger; grandchildren Brielle Frary, Evan Hoyt, Ayden LaBaff and Kirstie Bordeaux; and step grandchildren, Jess Murray and Tyler Jock.
She was predeceased by three brother, Gene Ramsay, Sherman Ramsay and Larry Ramsay; three sisters, Ruth Wallace, Dorothy Williams and Grace Richards; and a stepson, Corey Jock .
“Beba”, as she was affectionately known be her grandchildren, enjoyed yard and garage sales, weekly auctions, second hand stores, couponing, the Walton TV show, going to the Casino and spending time with her family and friends.
