Funeral services for 81-year old Mrs. Sheila N. Parmeter who died November 15, 2010 at Canton-Potsdam Hospital will be held on Friday, November 19, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of the Nazarene in Potsdam with Dr. Rev. Kenneth Pell officiating.
Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery, Town of Parishville. Friends may call at the Church on Friday from 12 noon until the time of the service. Arrangements are with the Seymour Funeral Home in Potsdam. Mrs. Parmeter was a resident of Potsdam.
Sheila is survived by three sons, Stephen and his wife Debbie Parmeter of Binghamton, John and his wife Laurie Parmeter of Norfolk, and Aaron and his wife Rae Parmeter of Warren, PA; a daughter, Mrs. Russell (Janet) Mikes of Louisville, KY; one sister, Mrs. Earl (Shirley) Laiton of Massena; and six grandchildren, Rebecca Grier, Jared Parmeter, Sarah Parmeter, Kelly Parmeter, Lily Parmeter, and Alan Parmeter.
Sheila was predeceased by her husband Thomas; two sons, Arnold James Parmeter and Phillip Parmeter; and two sisters, Annabel Vice and Alberta Henderson.
She was born in Ogdensburg, on October 23, 1929 the daughter of William B. and Alberta (Gallinger) Wood. She graduated from Massena Central School in 1947. On April 25, 1954 Sheila married Thomas H. Parmeter. Mr. Parmeter died June 16, 1980.
Sheila was employed at Canton-Potsdam Hospital for many years as an Admissions - Outpatient Clerk. She was an active member of the Church of the Nazarene in Potsdam, and she enjoyed seamstress work for friends and family.
