POTSDAM -- A Funeral Mass for Sara A. Jandreau, 39, of York, S.C. and formerly of Potsdam will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019, at 2 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Potsdam with Rev. Stephen Rocker officiating.

Burial will be at the West Stockholm Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, Jan. 7, 2019, from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Garner Funeral Home in Potsdam.

Sara passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, S.C. surrounded by her loving family.

Surviving is her mother & stepfather, Donna & James Hendershot of York, SC; her father, Douglas Jandreau Sr. of Florida; four brothers, Jason Jandreau of Florida, Douglas (Michelle) Jandreau of Lock Hart, S.C., Fred Jandreau of Florida and Scott Jandreau of Canton; two step-sisters, Mary (Justin) Bartholomew of Potsdam and Ann (Chris) Goodrow of Potsdam; an aunt, Bonnie Birdou of Parishville along with aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was predeceased by her grandparents, David & Doris Birdou, Harvey & Amaretta Jandreau; step-grandparents, James & Mary Hendershot Sr. and a step-sister, Susan M. Hendershot.

Sara was born premature on November 25, 1979, in Syracuse, to Douglas Jandreau Sr. & Donna (Birdou) Hendershot. With a strong will to be alive, Sara overcame many obstacles in her life and graduated from Riverview High School in Florida.

As she matured, Sara’s drive for perfection, although difficult at times, allowed her to become employed at the local Pizza Hut, where she worked for 6 years. She loved being around others and was a good friend to all that knew her.

In her spare time, Sara enjoyed playing cards, bingo, creating crafts with beads, talking on the phone and spending time with her family, especially her mother, who she loved so dearly.
