
Sandra J. Young, 72, Heuvelton, formerly of Lisbon passed away on December 11, 2011 at SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 19 at 11 a.m. at the Heuvelton First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Robert Schirmer, officiating.
Sandy is survived by her husband of 53 years, Donald R. Young of Heuvelton; four daughters, Glenda (Bryan) Gedbaw of Ogdensburg, Jeanne (Vincent) Pietrzak of Syracuse, Kathleen (Thomas) Brown of Heuvelton, and Cheryl (Aaron) McDonald of Bozeman, Montana; one brother Harold (Patricia) Jackson of Leesburg, Florida; 13 grandchildren and 2 great grand children; one niece and a nephew.
Sandy was born on November 30, 1939 in Heuvelton, the daughter of Harold J. Jackson and Helen E. Stevenson. She graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1957, and received an Associates Degree from Mater Dei College in 1985. She married her high school sweetheart, Donald R. Young on November 8, 1958 at the First Presbyterian Church in Ogdensburg.
Sandy enjoyed traveling with her husband Don throughout the United States during their retirement. She cherished spending time with her daughters and loved her grandchildren unconditionally. In her free time she enjoyed collecting books, reading, puzzles, and enjoyed teaching line dancing in Florida.
