Rose E Crosby, 96, formerly of Kent St, Massena passed away Friday afternoon, July 5,2013 at the Highland Nursing Home where she had been a resident since 2009.
Rose was born in Hopkinton June 10, 1917 the daughter of Frank and Cecelia (Lanpher) Santimaw. She was educated in local schools. Rose was married to Eli Planty. He was killed tragically in a logging accident in December 1940. She was married to Gordon Skinner in 1944 who died in 1961. Later in her life she met and married James Crosby who predeceased her in 1984. Rose lived in New York City since 1944 moving to Long Beach, NY in 1956 where she was in housekeeping at the City Hall. She moved back to the North Country in 1989 where she resided with her son Ronald. Rose is survived by her sons, Lloyd Planty of Queens, NY, Stan Planty of Bradenton, FL, Ronald Skinner of Massena and Danny Crosby of Queens. NY; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren. Rose was predeceased by a son, John Skinner in 2008.
Family and friends are invited to call Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at the Philips Memorial Home, Massena from 2 - 4 p.m. Funeral services will then be held at 4 p.m. with Rev Colin Lucid, Pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Parishville.
