Robert H. Clark III, 66, of County Route 14, passed away at his home early Tuesday morning Nov. 19, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. A Mass of Christian Burial for Robert will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with Msgr. Harry K. Snow at St. John the Baptist Church Madrid.

Friends are invited to call at the Phillips Memorial Home, 20 Church St., Madrid, NY on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Madrid following the service with full Military Honors.

Robert is survived by his children, Dora and Everett Thompson, of Lisbon, Trudy and Gary Lawrence of Potsdam, Becky and Douglas Watson of Westville, Dawn Saucier and fiancé Dale Rivers of Madrid, Christopher and Nicole Vallance of Madrid, and Robert and Kimberly Vallance of Madrid; 21 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Robert is also survived by his mother, Doris (Martin); and three brothers, Thomas and John Clark of Chase Mills and Randy Clark of Norfolk.

Robert was predeceased by his father, Robert Clark II; his brothers, Daniel and James; and a sister, Joan Clark and of most recent his wife Linda in 2009.

Robert was born on August 17, 1947 to Doris (Martin) and the late Robert Clark II in Potsdam. He enlisted into the United States Marine Corps and served his country proudly during the Vietnam Era. Honorable discharged Robert returned home and began work at ALCOA. He went on to marry Linda (Rookey) on September 29, 1984. They resided in Madrid where they raised their family. Robert enjoyed collecting old cars and fixing tractors. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and camping at Coles Creek. Robert was a Member of the Madrid Marine Corps League Detachment #408 and the American Legion Post #74.
