MASSENA -- Robert D. Robinson, age 75, formerly of Winooski, VT, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving wife Linda, and his children at the St. Regis Nursing Home in Massena, on Friday, November 24, 2017.
Bob was born to the late Arthur and Katherine (Sutton) Robinson in Massena on March 23, 1942.
He was a graduate of Massena Central High School in 1961.
Bob enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his country proudly during the Vietnam Conflict, honorably discharged in 1966.
He married the love of his life Linda Ladouceur in Massena on Oct 2, 1965 at St. Joseph’s Church.
Bob began work at General Electric in Burlington, VT where he worked for 26 years as a computer programmer.
Bob and Linda raised a family in Winooski, VT where they lived until moving back to his hometown of Massena in 2001.
He was an active supporter to the Winooski community.
Bob enjoyed golf, hunting, playing cards, the casino and spending time at his camp on Metcalf Pond.
He was a very caring and devoted man to his family and friends. His favorite saying was ‘Today's the first day of the rest of your life”.
Bob is survived by his wife of 52 years, Linda and their children, Christopher and Shannon Robinson, of Vergennes, VT, daughters, Tamra and Tony Augostino of Milton, VT, Sherri Barber of Hartford, VT and Amy and Kevin Raymond of North Hartland, VT; his 10 grandchildren, Katelyn and Christopher Robinson, Kendra and AJ Augostino, Chelsea, Morgan, Adam and Austin Barber, Summer and Logan Raymond; his brother, Arthur and mother-in-law Ruth Ladouceur both of Massena; along with several nieces and nephews.
Bob was predeceased by his parents and siblings Herbert, Erma Guyett, Earl, Ruth Lynch and Anita Lazure.
As per Bob’s wishes, there will be no public calling hours or services at this time.
Burial will take place in Brookside Cemetery, Waddington, at the convenience of the family.
