MASSENA -- Rita Raymo Pachoud, 91, of The Villages Florida, formerly of Massena, passed away Monday, August 7 under the care of Lady Lake Specialty Care Nursing Home and Hospice.
She was born in Raymondville, on November 10, 1925, daughter of the late Fred and Mildred Scott Rupert.
She was a graduate of Massena Central School.
Rita was a bank teller for many years working at Farmer’s Bank, National Bank, and finishing her career at Seacomm Federal Credit Union.
She was also employed as a rural mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service in her early years.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and the VFW and the THEM club in The Villages, FL.
Rita enjoyed traveling with her companion, Jim Mitchell. She also enjoyed dancing, golfing, and many other activities in The Villages, until the time of her illness.
Rita is survived by her companion, Jim Mitchell of Elbridge, NY, three daughters, Mary Lou Fioretto and her companion, Pat O’Shea of Massena, Phyllis and Don Prouty of The Villages, FL, Debra and David Clifford of The Villages, FL, one son, Dale and Lori Raymo of Massena, a brother, Douglas and Glendora Rupert of Bellview, FL, a sister, Dorothy Ryan of Ocala, FL, nine grandchildren, Tricia Porter, Jodi Ronci, Megan Bouchard, Ryan, Aaron, and Evan Raymo, Adam Catanzarite, and Chris and Matt Prouty, six great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Virgil Raymo, her second husband, Clarence Pachoud, her daughters, Joanne Raymo and Patricia Lava, and a sister, Doris Green.
Services will be held privately, at the convenience of her family.
There will be no calling hours.
She will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Massena.
