Richard S. “Farmer” Crawn Jr., passed away Sunday, May 30, at his home, where he was surrounded by his family and Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley.
There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be private with the Green Funeral Home of Gouverneur, and the burial will be in Hermon Cemetery at the convenience of his family.
Richard was born March 11, 1952, in Newton, New Jersey to Richard and Ellen Spangenberg Crawn.
Richard attended Gouverneur High School. He married Theresa Arquitt in Gouverneur with the Rev. Sam Simmons presiding, and the marriage ended in divorce.
Surviving Richard are his parents, Richard and Ellen of Gouverneur; a son, Richard Crawn III of Massena; two daughters Angel Crawn of Ticonderoga and Tammy Tisdell of Malone. Richard is also survived by two sisters, Patricia Walrath of Gouverneur,and Vernie Arquitt of Hermon; and one brother, Allan Crawn of Gouverneur. Richard is predeceased by a son Thomas Crawn.
Richard was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and picnics. He also treasured his time with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
