OGDENSBURG -- Funeral services for Rhea I. Casey, 93, of Ogdensburg, will be held on Monday, May 21, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Notre Dame Church with Deacon Mark Lalonde officiating. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery immediately after.
Mrs. Casey passed away on Monday, April 2, 2018, at Riverledge Nursing Home.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Frary Funeral Home, Ogdensburg.
Rhea is survived by her daughters, Linda Whyte of Ogdensburg, Donna Raymon and her husband, John, of Heuvelton, and Barbara Spooner and her husband, Doug, of Ogdensburg; a daughter-in-law, Victoria Jennings of Ogdensburg; a sister, Sharon Wilcox of Ogdensburg, 12 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is predeceased by two sons, Howard Jennings in 1994 and Gerald C. Jennings in 2011; two sisters, Janet Charland and Marie Hyde; three brothers, Grant Flood, Arnold Flood and Mansell Flood and her parents, Glenn and Vera Flood.
Rhea was born on September 23, 1924, in Outback, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of Glenn and Vera Williams Flood. She attended local schools. Rhea married John T. Casey on February 9, 1949, at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Ogdensburg, NY with Rev. Everett Denesha officiating. He predeceased her on May 30, 1971. Rhea worked for Standard Shade Roller and later for ACCO International Brands as a machine operator until her retirement in August of 1986.
Rhea enjoyed crocheting, reading and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
