Raymond E. Fefee age 83 of Brushton, passed away on Septermber 15, 2011 at home surrounded by his loving family and under the care of North Country Hospice.
Raymond was born on September 18, 1928 in Brushton, the son of the late Noel and Della (Caturie) Fefee. He graduated from Moira High School and then served his country in the US Navy for 6 years. Raymond was united in marriage to Zella Page on November 12, 1968 in St. Patrick’s Church in Brasher Falls. He owned and operated the Fefee Homestead farm for numerous years and also enjoyed raising horses.
Raymond later joined the Laborers Union 322 in Massena and retired with over 25 years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Brushton-Moira American Legion Post 919. In his free time, Raymond enjoyed Reading, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling but he especially enjoyed the time he spent with his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Rayonna and Roger Pickering of Brushton, and Rita and Harry Fefee of Brushton; grandchildren, Rayella and James Pickering of Bangor, R.J. Martin of Brushton; David Fefee of Brushton, Chad and Bryn Fefee of Constable, Paul Fefee of Brushton, Theresa and Mike Tavernia of Bangor, Charles and Sandy Fefee of Bangor and Dale and Tracie Fefee of Moira; sister-in-law Agatha Fefee of Brushton; and several nieces and nephews.
Ray was predeceased by his wife Zella (Page) Fefee on January 6, 1998. He was also predeceased by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Margaret Fefee, Ronald Fefee, Donald and Marjorie Fefee, Seward and Rebecca Fefee and Norel and Peter Fefee; sisters and brothers-in-law, Elma and Colon Daggett, Joyce and Wally Parent, and Helena and Harry Lanngdon.
Friends are invited to call at the Flint Funeral Home, Moira on Friday, September 16, 2011 from 7 to 9 p.m. Calling hours will continue on Saturday, September 17, 2011 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Funeral Service will follow calling hours and begin at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Sheila Nichols officiating the services. Burial will follow in Sandhill Cemetery with full Military Honors.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Brushton-Moira American Legion Post 919 in Raymond’s memory. Arrangements are under the direction of the Flint Funeral Home, Moira.
