Pauline Norma Vincent Trumble Amo, of 321 Kiah Street in Ogdensburg, earned her eternal reward on Sunday, January 26, 2014. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. Notre Dame Church with Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Frary Funeral Home.
Pauline was born on March 9, 1923 in Alburgh, VT to Eustache (Jack) Vincent and Emma Gooley Vincent. Pauline attended St. Peter’s School in Ogdensburg and St. Mary’s boarding and grade school in Champlain. She graduated Salutatorian of her class from St. Mary’s Academy in Ogdensburg in 1939.
She married Roy Trumble August 17, 1942 at St. Mary’s Church in Potsdam. He died Feb. 1, 1965. She married Raymond F. Amo on Oct. 19, 1981. He predeceased her on Oct. 3, 2003.
Pauline is survived by one son, William and his wife Terri Trumble of Liverpool; three daughters, Patricia and her husband James Lesperance of Liverpool, Susan and her husband David Fishel of Ogdensburg and Trudy and her husband Pierre Gagnon of Homer. She is also survived by stepsons, Michael Amo, and his companion, Nikki, of Central Valley, Brandon (Dutch) Amo and his partner Tina Smith of Watertown, and Mark Amo of Albuquerque, NM; and18 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son, Michael and his wife, Victoria Trumble; her daughter, Trudy Ellen who died in infancy; her brother, Marcel Vincent; and her sister, Rita Mellon.
Pauline was employed at Woolworths and Montgomery Ward in Potsdam and Woolworths and JJ Newberry’s in Ogdensburg. She later worked for The Ogdensburg Trust Company and Oneida National Banking in Ogdensburg, retiring on Oct. 14, 1981 after 16 years of service.
She enjoyed travelling, sewing, gardening, crafts and was an avid reader. Her greatest legacies are her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren of whom she was very proud.
