
Oletha "Lee" Scott, 91, formerly of Gouverneur, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2012 at Samaritan Keep Home in Watertown.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, July 25th from 12 - 2 p.m., prior to a 2:00 p.m. funeral service at the Green Funeral Home, Gouverneur with David Sheppard, pastor of the First Congregational Church of Morristown officiating and burial in East Riverside Cemetery, Gouverneur.
Oletha was born February 24, 1921 in Macomb, the daughter of Archie and Annabell Hockey Goodison. Oletha graduated from Gouverneur High School in 1939 and worked in housekeeping at the E.J. Noble Hospital for ten years. Lee married Harry W. "Bill" on August 19, 1939 at the Methodist parsonage in Carthage. Mr. Scott passed away March 27, 1992.
Lee was a member of the Oxbow Presbyterian Church and the United Presbyterian Women group. She enjoyed spending summers on Grass Lake and fishing. Oletha was very proud of her 53 year marriage, her home, and most of all, her children and grandchildren.
Oletha is survived by her daughter, Linna Sitts of Antwerp; her son, Thomas Scott and Holly of Norwood; nine grandchildren; eight great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband; two brothers, Wayne Goodison and Dean Goodison; two sisters, Marjorie Van Etten and Helen Bulger and a grandson,Todd W. Scott.
