Mary Louise Manson, 91, formerly Massena, passed away peacefully Thursday, Dec. 20 at the home of Mark (Mickey), Sharon and Derrick Manson, Brushton, where she resided for the last year.

Mary was born March 13, 1921, the daughter of the late Gibson & Blanche (Hutchins) Manson in Bangor. She was among the 1939 graduating class of Franklin Academy and attended the Massena School of Business. Throughout Mary’s life, she resided in Massena, Malone and Ft. Covington.

At one time she was employed at ALCOA, and then went to work for John Boyce at his bus line and car garage. From 1950-1967 she was employed with Sears Roebuch Company, Malone in the Human Resource Department, however she resigned from that position to take care of her ailing mother. In 1970 Mary began work at the Franklin County Department of Social Services until her retirement in 1991.

Mary is predeceased by her siblings Shirley Manson, Betty Davis, Thomas Manson, Frederick Manson, Floyd Manson, and Clayton Manson; brother-in-laws Charles Roser Frederick Davis and sister-in-laws Isabel Roser Manson and Valencia Duheme Manson.

She is survived by her brothers Mark (Mickey) & Sharon Manson of Brushton, James (Beverly) Manson of Constable; her sisters Althea (David) Sainsbury, Shortsville, Virginia Roser of Raleigh, NC; two sister-in-laws; Joy Manson, Phoenix AZ, Virma Manson of Constable and one aunt, Beatrice Manson, Malone and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions in Mary’s honor may be made to the Moira Rescue Squad, 2340 CR 5, Moira, NY 12957, or to The Alice Ballard Hospice Fund, 104 Park St. Malone, NY 12953.

Family and Friends are invited to call Sunday, Dec. 23 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Flint Funeral Home, Moira. Mary’s funeral services will be held at the funeral home Monday at 10 a.m., with Father Christopher J. Looby presiding.

Interment will follow in Morningside Cemetery, Malone, where she will be laid to rest within the family plot.
