Funeral services for 72-year old Mrs. Mary L. Murphy will be held Friday, June 25 at the Seymour Funeral Home in Potsdam at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Charles Gardner, officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Cemetery in Parishville. Friends may call at the Seymour Funeral Home in Potsdam on Thursday June 24 from 2 until 4 p.m. and 7 until 9 p.m. She died at her home on June 23, 2010.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Charlene and Timothy Randall of Parishville; a grandson, Elmer J. and Lisa Randall of Hopkinton; a grandson, Bryan Boyce serving in the U. S. Navy in Hawaii; a granddaughter, Kimberly Colby and James Barney of Parishville; Mary’s "significant other," Peter Molnar of Parishville; eight great-grandchildren, Kayla, Rebecca, Emily, Daniel, Conner, Jared, Katie, and Desarae; her god-daughter, Melissa Paestella; and several nieces and nephews.
Mary was predeceased by two sisters, Mrs. Virginia Potter, and Mrs. Lillie Weatherwax; three brothers, James F. Wilson Jr., Harvey Wilson and Daniel "Teddy" Wilson; her husband, Charles Murphy who died Feb. 10, 1956; and by her long time companion Herbert Murray who died Sept. 14, 1990.
Mary was born at her family farm in the Town of Parishville, on April 18, 1938 the daughter of James F. and Lucy (Lottie) Wilson. She graduated from Parishville Hopkinton High School, and joined her father operating the family farm for her entire adult life. She was a member of the Norfolk American Legion.
