COLTON -- Mary E. Oney, 75, 608 Gulf Road, peacefully passed away Monday evening, May 7, 2018 at the United Helpers Maplewood Nursing Home. She had been in failing health for the past several years.
Mary was born August 11, 1942, Watertown, NY, the daughter of late George David and Sally (Loffman) Corbett and attended the Campus School.
On July 1, 1961, she married Donald W. Oney Sr., in West Stockholm. He predeceased her on October 27, 1993.
Mary was a homemaker who dedicated her life to raising her family. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, camping and she cherished the time she was able to spend visiting and socializing with her friends and family.
Mary is survived by six loving children, John and Amy Oney of Dekalb Junction; Donald Jr. and Teresa Oney of Canton; Eve and William Gilbo of Potsdam; Donna Payne of Winthrop; Tina Burdick of Massena; and Tracy and Carl Pitts of Hopkinton; 27 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter. She also survived by her companion, Richard Peters of Colton; his children, Richard Peters Jr. of Massena, Bobbi Peters and Candi Watts, both of Alabama; and their children; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by seven siblings.
Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 7-8:30 pm at the Donaldson–Seymour Funeral Home, Potsdam, where funeral services will be held at 8:30 pm with Rev. Martha Helmer, officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in Raymondville Cemetery.
