Marion L. Blanchard, 88 formerly of Louisville, and a resident of St. Regis Nursing Home, passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at the Massena Memorial Hospital.
Marion was born on January 15, 1924 in Louisville the daughter of William and Bertha (Delile) Boyce. She married James H. Blanchard on December 28, 1943 at St. Lawrence Church Louisville by Rev. Patrick B. Riley. Mr. Blanchard predeceased her on September 21, 1993.
Marion's first employment was as a bookkeeper for Fournia Motors until the late 1950's. In 1956 she and her husband owned and operated Blanchard's General Store on Rt # 37 in Louisville until they retired in 1987.
Marion was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society of St. Lawrence Church, Norfolk Jolly Agers, Massena Grange and the Senior Citizens of Massena, Waddington, and Madrid. She enjoyed her flower garden and especially spending time with her beloved grandchildren.
Marion's survivors include a son and three daughters, Richard J. Blanchard, Beverly and Richard Eastwood all of Massena, Barbara Wheeler of St. Andrews, Ontario, and Linda and Virgil Love of Louisville; nine grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; two sisters, Loretta Taillon of Massena, Helen and Harlon Tyo of Edgewater, FL; two brothers, Herb Boyce of Rochester, and Gerald Boyce of Syracuse; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Brough; and two brothers, James and Leon Boyce.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday 10:00 a.m. October 27, 2012 at St. Lawrence Church, Louisville with Rev. Donald J. Manfred presiding. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Friends and family may be received on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Phillips Memorial Home in Massena. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Heart Association.
