HANNAWA FALLS -- A Funeral Service for 85-year-old Margaret C. Thomas, a resident of 16 McMaster Drive, will be held at the Zion Episcopal Church in Colton with Rev. Pat LaVine presiding, at a date to be announced.
Mrs. Thomas passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017, at the Maplewood Campus in Canton.
Burial will be held in the Pleasant Mound Cemetery, Colton.
Margaret is survived by her two sons, Robert Thomas Jr., Pulaski and Richard and Liela Thomas, Bambridge Island, Washington; her four beloved grandchildren, Erik, Ryan, Maddie and Rielly; a brother, Floyd “Sonny” and Bernice Campbell, South Colton; a sister, Bernice and George Robert, Colton and her sister-in-law, Beverly Campbell, Norwood; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Margaret was pre-deceased by her husband of 62 years, Robert H. Thomas who passed away earlier this year on January 21, 2017 and her brother, Robert G. Campbell who passed away on March 4, 2013.
Born in Colton, on August 19, 1932 to the late George and Helen Fisher Campbell, Margaret graduated from Colton-Pierrepont Central School.
She married Robert H. Thomas on June 5, 1954.
Margaret was a very creative and artistic person. She enjoyed oil, china painting as well as quilting and knitting. She was active with the Borderline Quilters, the Dessert Quilters, the Episcopal Women’s Barn Quilt Guild and the Altar Guild.
Margaret was also a member of the Potsdam Town and Country Club in which she was a member for over 52 years.
