Funeral services for Lorena Helen Matthie of 2123 County Rt. 35, will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Buck Funeral Home in Colton with Rev. Edwin Wright presiding. Burial will be held in Pleasant Mound Cemetery, Colton.
Calling hours will be held Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Lorena passed away Thursday at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center, in Ogdensburg.
Lorena is survived by her sons, Robert Matthie Jr., West Potsdam, Gary Matthie, West Potsdam, Timothy Marlin, Connecticut, John Moore Jr., Rensselaer Falls, and Terry Matthie, Albany; her daughters, Donna Matthie, Depeyster and Linda Ward, South Colton; her brothers, Thomas Irish, West Parishville, Frank Fisher, South Colton and George Fisher, Colton; and her sisters, Bernice Westerdick, Colton, Gaila Cole, North Lawrence, Marleen Irish, West Potsdam, and Dorothy Gilbert, Potsdam; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughters, Lorena and Barbara Matthie.
She was born in South Colton on August 17, 1933, to Henry Irish Sr. and Zelia Fisher. A marriage to Robert Matthie Sr. ended in divorce. Lorena was a homemaker.
