Lloyd J. Mayville Sr., 82, North Bangor

Lloyd J. Mayville Sr. age 82 of North Bangor passed away Friday, November 9, 2012 at the Franklin County Nursing Home in Malone where he was surrounded by his loving family. He had been a resident since August 31, 1912.

He was born July 31, 1930 in North Bangor, the son of the late Orman and Ethel LaComb Mayville. He attended school in Brushton. In 19448 he enlisted and served with the U.S. Air Force where he served his overseas duty in the Korean Conflict, he was honorably discharged in 1953.

With his expertise in the heating and plumbing business he was employed by the following businesses Holland Pump in Ogdensburg, the Saint Lawrence Seaway, Alcoa Operations in Massena, Seaway Petroleum in Ft. Covington, Black’s Plumbing and Heating in Ft. Covington, Big D’s Plumbing and Heating, Sears in Malone, Dutchers Construction, Luck Bros. construction. He was self-employed for many years in the plumbing and heating and worked for Malone plumbing and heating in Malone until his retirement in 1992.

His hobbies included his hobby farm, doing a little fishing and enjoyed spending time with is grandchildren.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Brushton, Past member of the Knights of Columbus in Ft. Covington and a past member of the Brushton-Moira American Legion .

On January 16, 1950 he was united in marriage to Marie T. LaBombard at Notre Dame Church in Malone. She survives.

Besides his wife of sixty two years, he is survived by four sons, Lloyd J. Mayville Jr. of North Bangor, Eugeneand Janice Mayville of Brushton, Steven and Christine Mayville of Bombay, Jamie and Stephanie Mayville of North Bangor; one daughter, Susan and Glendon Winters the 3rd of Brushton; 11 grandchildren, Melissa Mayville of Malone, Shannon Mayville and companion Michael McGillicuddy of Chateaugay, Jody and Darren Mackey of Brushton, Stacie and Brian Dabiew of Brushton, Lisa and Barry Clark of North Bangor, Eugene and Alisha Mayville Jr. of Brushton, Sabrina and Kyle Yound of Brushton, Christopher and Cayla Mayville of Bombay, Stephanie and Christopher Griffin of Bombay, and Keisha and Dylan Mayville of Malone; 12 great grandchildren, Kali Mayville Gratton, Quinn McGillicuddy, Mya and Kyra Mackey, Jayden and Samantha Dabiew, Molly and Barry Jr. Clark, Summer and Meagan Mayville, and Dorian and Cian Griffin; one brother, Lawrence Mayville of Malone; three sisters, Della Brockway of Ft. Covington, Elizabeth White Drum of Moira, and Carol and James Langdon of Dickinson Center; and one sister in law, Irolean Mayville of Dickinson.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by one son, Tracey Mayville who died in infancy; brothers Lester, Robert Harold and Orman; sisters Gladys Pelkey-Keefe, Agnes Roberts and Alice and Ronald Villnave; and brothers in law Gerald LaBombard, Jerome Brockway, Earl White and Andrew Pelkey.

Friends may call at the Flint Funeral Home on Monday, November 12, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Brushton with the Rev. Christopher J. Looby and Rev. Alfred H. Fish Officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Brushton.

Memorial donations may be made to the North Bangor Fire and Rescue or to the Franklin County Nursing Home Activities Fund.
