Linda L. Basmajian, 61, of Rouses Point, and formerly of Massena, died Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at her home under the loving care of her family and Hospice of the North Country.
A "casual attire" service, celebrating Linda's life, will be held Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 1 PM at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 793 Gilbert Road, Mooers.
Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Haig K. Basmajian, whom she married February 27, 1971 in Massena; two children, Matthew Basmajian and wife Jodie of Mooers Forks, and Nicole Rabideau and her husband Jimmy of Mooers Forks; three grandchildren, Brooke Basmajian, and Maxx and Seth Rabideau; one brother, Larry Ouimet and his wife Wendy of Detroit, Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents.
She was born in Massena, September 30, 1949 the daughter of Hubert and June (Billings) Ouimet. She grew up in Massena and graduated from Massena Central School in 1967. She later graduated from CCBI in Syracuse, with an associate’s in business. She moved to Rouses Point in 1976.
She worked at the Wyeth Federal Credit Union in Rouses Point for several years prior to retiring in 2004. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters, and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Rouses Point. She was an avid golfer, and enjoyed playing cards, and shopping, but her true love was spending time with her family.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Rouses Point Rescue Squad or Hospice of the North Country.
