Lena Lytle Rogers, 90, of 2290 Black Lake Road, Hammond, formerly of Ike Noble Drive, Canton, died Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at her daughter’s home.
Born January 25, 1920 in Canton, she was the daughter of Carl and Delia (Cousineau) Lytle. She graduated from Canton Catholic School and later from Canton High School. She attended St. Lawrence University and later received her nursing degree at Syracuse University.
Lena was employed by Syracuse Memorial Hospital for a number of years prior to moving to Alexandria Bay. The family lived in Alex Bay for a number of years until moving back to Canton in 1984 to care for her ailing father.
Surviving are Mary “Peg” Nocerino of Norwood, Linda Cranin and husband Randy of Freehold, NJ, Lisa Rogers of Pulteney, and Beth Blanchard and husband Steve of Hammond; and four grandchildren, Danielle and Rachel Cranin, Cassie Blanchard and Brian Kilbury.
She was predeceased by her brother, Wm. “Bill” Lytle.
A Prayer service will be held on Wednesday, September 7th at 11:30 a.m. at the Lawrence Funeral Home, Canton with Rev. Fr. Douglas Lucia officiating. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Canton.
