Graveside services for Lawrence V. LaFlair, age 75, of Ogdensburg, will be held on Friday, September 27, 2013 at Notre Dame Cemetery at 11:00 AM with military honors with Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Frary Funeral Home on 515 Caroline Street. Mr. LaFlair passed away on Wednesday evening, September 18, 2013 at Massena Memorial Hospital.
Lawrence is survived by four sisters, Victoria Earl and her husband, Danny, Darlene Smithers, Sallie Gilbert, all of Ogdensburg, and Dorothy Riopelle and her husband, Michael, of Brockville, Ontario; a brother, Frederick C. LaFlair of Ogdensburg and longtime companion, Justina Chateau. He was predeceased by a brother, Terrance LaFlair and a sister, Virginia Kio.
Lawrence was born on December 4, 1937, in Ogdensburg, the son of Victor and Marion Marceau LaFlair. Lawrence graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy. After graduating from high school Lawrence joined the United States Army in 1958 and had received the Good Conduct Medal while serving. He was honorably discharged in August of 1961. Lawrence was employed by Bell Metal Fabricating Corporation in Pearl River, NY where he retired in 2001.
Lawrence enjoyed fishing, bowling and watching the Yankees. Lawrence was very active in softball when he lived in Pearl River.
