Kenneth A. Parmeter, 75, passed away Monday (August 6, 2012), with the love of his family and with the support of Hospice of the North Country at his side. Arrangements are with the Flint Funeral Home, Moira.

Ken was born June 18, 1937 the son of the late Samuel & Eva (Hyde) Parmeter. He attended Madrid Waddington School and lived there most of his life. He married Ann Dishaw in 1961, the marriage later ended in a divorce. Later in life he met Pauline Gardner, they were married January 30, 1988, and resided in North Lawrence. Ken was employed as a school bus driver with St. Lawrence Central School. He worked construction for the Local 322, and at one time, he worked for ALCOA in the pollution control dept. Ken spent the last 16 years of his working career driving bus for the Adult center in Brushton, retiring December 6, 2012. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, and the animals on his hobby farm especially his dogs. However when the Yankees were play, you could find him rooting them on.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Pauline; a son, Kenneth Jr; his daughter, Karen Bush both of Pyrmara; his stepchildren, Christine and Craig Tucker of Brushton and James Gardner and his companion Tammy Ryan; two nephews, Gary and Rick Middlemiss; a niece, Nancy Stebbins; and six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, will fondly miss their grandfather. The two youngest grandchildren LeAnna Gardner and James Jr. Gardner held a special place in his heart; the company they shared brought Ken much pleasure.

Besides his parents, sisters, Shirley Middlemiss, Emma Sherwin, and Alethia Marcella; and his brothers Howard, Justin and Milton, predecease him.

Expression of one’s sympathy in the form of monetary donations may be made in Ken’s honor to the Brushton Adult Senior Citizen Center.

Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday (August 9, 2012) from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services celebrating the life of Ken will be Friday at the Flint Funeral Home, at 11 a.m. Ken will rest in the St. Mary’s Cemetery Brushton.
