POTSDAM -- Mr. Justin Alan Miller, 33, affectionately known as “Jam” to his many friends and family, of State Highway 345, tragically passed away Friday afternoon, March 9, 2018, while at work in the Village of Canton.
Justin was born August 10, 1984, in Potsdam, the son of Scott D. and Leane (Phillips) Miller.
He was a 2003 graduate of Potsdam High School and WyoTech in Pennsylvania, where he studied and earned his certifications in diesel mechanics, welding, and chassis fabrication.
Justin was a mechanic currently working for Atlantic Testing.
He had previously worked for Barrett’s Paving in Norwood, Peterbilt in Rouses Point, and various companies in Pennsylvania.
Jam had a great zest for life and will be remembered for his radiating smile, love of a good joke, Jack Daniels and a cold beer.
He also loved snowmobiling, dirt track stock car racing, hunting, fishing, and the work he did.
His family and friends will miss their regular visits with him.
Jam is survived by his parents, Scott and Leane; his sisters and their husbands, Casandra and Dereck Dodd of Potsdam and Christa and Kwame Adusei of Stormville; his nephew, Dominick Dodd; his niece, Matilda; his grandfather, Sam Miller of Potsdam and Florida; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Royal and Betty Phillips and his paternal grandmother, Joyce Miller.
Friends may call Wednesday 2-4 and 6-9:00 p.m. at the Donaldson-Seymour Funeral Home, Potsdam, where funeral services will be held Thursday 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Scott Daby, officiating.
Burial will follow the services in Madrid Cemetery.
