Funeral services for June K. Barr, 88, Ogdensburg, will be held Monday, Nov. 18 at St. Mary’s Cathedral at 10 a.m. with Rev. Joseph Morgan and Father Scott officiating. Burial will be in Ogdensburg Cemetery after funeral services.
Calling hours will be Sunday, Nov. 17 at Frary Funeral Home, 515 Caroline St., from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
Mrs. Barr passed away Thursday, Nov. 14 at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center.
June is survived by James Barr; Lucille Klein; William Barr and his wife, Kelly; Florence Stull; Kim Barr; Cecil Barr; Emily Wilson and her husband, Roger; Nancy Addison and her companion Matt Fox; and Kelly Armstrong and her husband Tom of Lisbon; one brother, Jack Mitchell; fifty-two grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Alice, at infancy and a son, Jackie, at age two, as well as four great grandchildren.
She was born June 16, 1925 in Ogdensburg, the daughter of Carl and Mary Alice Chartrand Mitchell.
She attended St. Mary’s school. She at one time worked at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center and later at ACCO.
She worked a majority of her life at Barr’s Restaurant.
She married James Barr at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Ogdensburg Nov. 13, 1948, with Canon George A. Palmer officiating. He predeceased her July 21, 1977.
She enjoyed playing bingo, spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Donations may be made in her memory to the St. Lawrence Valley Chapter of the SPCA.
She will be sadly missed by all her friends at the Riverview Towers.
