Funeral services for Joseph W. Chevrier, age 65, of Ogdensburg, will be held on Friday, June 4, 2010 at Frary Funeral Home at 5:00 p.m. with Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on June 4, 2010 at Frary Funeral Home from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Mr. Chevrier passed away on May 31, 2010 at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center after being stricken at home.
Mr. Chevrier is survived by four daughters, Brenda Chevrier and her significant other, Bonnie Raffter, Karen Chevrier and her companion, John Cooper, both of Ogdensburg, Kimberly Chevrier and Christian Chevrier, both of Brier Hill; one son, Joseph Chevrier and his companion Gail Dishaw of Brier Hill.
He was predeceased by one brother, Ronald Chevrier in 2006.
Mr. Chevrier was born on July 7, 1944 in Ogdensburg, the son of Wilfred and Irene (Perkins) Chevrier. He attended local schools. He first married Sandra Coakley on April 11, 1964 at Notre Dame Church of which ended in divorce. He then married Katie Lovely of which ended in divorce. He later married Claudette Guimond of which ended in divorce. He served in the US Army from 1969-1972, serving in the Vietnam War. He worked for the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center as a mental hygiene therapist for over 20 years.
Mr. Chevrier was a member of the National Rifle Association and the local Amvets. Mr. Chevrier enjoyed his family and friends.
