Mr. Joseph P. D'Arienzo, 91, of Jacksonville, FL died Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at his home in Jacksonville, FL.

He was born July 28, 1921 in Massena, the son of Immaculata and John D'Arienzo. He graduated from Massena High School in 1938 and from Syracuse University in 1948. He married Gertrude M. Denis (of Tupper Lake) on July 28, 1943 in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Joseph served in the Army Air Corps in WWII. He served with the 491st Bombardment Group, 8th Air Force in North Pickenham, England as a sergeant, flying missions and as a gunnery instructor.

He returned home in 1945, graduated from Syracuse University with a BS/ Accounting and began a career that saw assignments in Saudi Arabia, Iran, and various industries in the financial arena in the US, retiring as Vice President & Treasurer of Reserve Oil and Gas, in Apple Valley, California. Joseph loved to travel all around the world, and he was also an avid golfer.

Joseph was predeceased by his wife, Gertrude; his five sisters, Rose Stefanatos, Mamie Kennedy, Amelia Burkhalter Grow, Ann Serabian, and Virginia Wilkins; and his five brothers, Matthew J., James M., Alfonso (Fudgy), Tony, and Louie.

Joseph is survived by his sisters, Mary Romeo and Sylvia Whitton of Massena; and by many nieces and nephews from both the D'Arienzo and Denis families.

A Funeral Mass will be said at 11:00 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Scott D. Fobare officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Donaldson Funeral Home.
