
Funeral Services for John Paul Moulton, age 95, of Ogdensburg, a prayer service at 9:00 a.m. at Frary Funeral Home, followed by a mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, August 4, 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Cathedral with Rev. Joe Morgan officiating. Mr. Moulton passed away Tuesday morning at St. Joseph’s Nursing Home. Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 3, from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at Frary Funeral Home. Burial will be Monday at Holy Infancy Cemetery in Lake Luzerne, NY.
Mr. Moulton is survived by his wife, Patricia; one daughter, Janice and her husband William Shoen of Ogdensburg; one son, William and Ann Moulton of Melbourne, FL; two grandchildren, Kelli and her husband Tim Walsh of Manheim, PA, and Kristi and her husband Tom Reisinger of Baldwinsville; two great-grandchildren, Matthew Walsh and Kahlei Reisinger; and one sister, Ethel Ouimet of Chateaugay.
Mr. Moulton was predeceased by two children, Paul and Jay; two brothers, Donald and Walter; and one sister, Kathryn.
Mr. Moulton was born May 20, 1917, son of Bruce and Helen (Paul) Moulton in Ellenburg Center. He graduated Chateaugay High School. He joined the Army to serve in WWII from 1942-1945 where he earned the rank of Staff Sergeant. After the service he married the former June Morris at St. Mary’s Church in Glens Falls with the Rev. Edwin Dugan officiating. She predeceased him in 1994. On July 10, 2004, he married Patricia Gardner at St. Mary’s Cathedral with the Rev. Terry LaValley officiating. He first went to work for Social Security in 1938 and retiring as a District Manager in 1975.
Mr. Moulton was a member of BPOE Elks 772 and a member and past president of the Ogdensburg Lions Club. He was a recipient of the Melvin Jones Award.
