A private Funeral Mass for Jeanne C. Outman, age 82, of State Hwy 184 Pope Mills, will be held at St. Raphael’s Church in Heuvelton with Rev. Jay Seymour officiating. Burial will follow the service at Hillcrest Cemetery in Heuvelton. Arrangements are with the Fox & Murray Funeral Home.
There will be no public calling hours. Mrs. Outman passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center.
Surviving is her husband of 62 years, Gerald “Dean” Outman; four daughters, Ellen Outman of Heuvelton, Mrs. Gary (Myrna) White of Heuvelton, Mrs. Eric (Patricia) Key of Ogdensburg, Gina Outman & her husband Theron Aldrich of Watertown; two sisters, Eleanor Cannon of Utica, Peggy Chambers of Heuvelton; three brothers, Harold Chambers & his wife Eleanor of Heuvelton, Jack Chambers & his wife Pauline of El Paso, TX and summer residence of Heuvelton, Kenneth Chambers & his wife Peg of Heuvelton; grandchildren Dean White & his wife Gina, Amy Kaldor-Bull and her husband Ben, Sarah White, Gary White Jr. and his wife Cathy, Seadon White, Katie Outman Aldrich & Maria Outman Aldrich; several great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews & cousins.
A sister Emma Lou May predeceased her in 1997.
Jeanne was born on July 10, 1927 in Depeyster, a daughter of the late Lloyd & Marie (Kelly) Chambers. She graduated from Heuvelton High School in 1943 and married Gerald “Dean” Outman on October 24, 1947 at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church Rectory. She was a member of the St. Raphael’s Church Alter and Rosary Society and the Town of Depeyster Board of Elections.
She has worked as a homemaker in her present home since 1953 and has enjoyed keeping a daily journal, spending time with her family, researching genealogy, accounting, knitting crocheting, reading, cooking, and was a talented seamstress.
Memorial contributions have been requested to the American Cancer Society or the Heuvelton Volunteer Fire Dept First Responders.
