Janet P. Dana, 69, passed away Thursday, July 19, resulting from a car accident.

Arrangements are with the Flint Funeral Home, Moira.

Janet was born January 1, 1943, in Malone, the daughter of the late Raymond and Jean (Tryon) Noreault. She was a graduate of the Winooski High School, and a 1965 graduate of UVM where she obtained her Masters Degree in Education. In 1965, she began teaching at Brushton Moira Central School, teaching in the English Department retiring in 2000. On August 20, 1966 she was united in marriage to Donald Dana at St. Steven’s Church in Winooski, Vermont

Janet loved her family, and cherished every minute spent with her grandchildren. She found much peace in reading a good book, enjoying the fragrance of a beautiful flower, or baking a delicious dish, Janet put great value on the simple enjoyments in life.

Besides her husband Donald she is survived by her two sons, Jeffrey Dana of North Lawrence, Alan Dana of Plattsburgh, a daughter Beth and Chris Kemp of North Lawrence, two brothers James (Judy) Noreault, and Richard (Lorna) Noreault both of Colchester, Vermont, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she is predeceased by a daughter-in-law Laurie, two granddaughters Caitlyn, and Lauryn Dana, and Iris Collins.

Memorial contributions in Janet’s honor may be made to the Moira Historical Society.

Calling hours will be held Monday, July 23, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday morning at 11 a.m at St. Mary’s Church Brushton with the Rev. Christopher Looby celebrating and the Rev. Gerry Giroux con-celebrating the mass.
