WESTVILLE – Mr. James C. Brown, 50, of 3550 State Route 37, passed away Saturday afternoon, January 24, 2015 at the University of Vermont Medical Center, where had been a patient since Monday.
Jim was born January 19, 1965 in New York City, the son of William Brown and Patricia Dineen. He graduated from Salmon River Central School in 1984 and entered the US Army after graduation. He served his country until his honorable discharge in 1986. On September 8, 2007, he married Karen M. St. Ann at the Fort Covington Presbyterian Church with Rev. Donald Alexander, officiating.
Jim was an educator, first working for North Star in Malone before becoming a substitute teacher at Salmon River Central School, where he retiring on June 23, 2014 due to failing health. He also was a home tutor to many students throughout the years. Jim had a great love for Salmon River Central, where he was the time keeper for countless basketball games over the years. He enjoyed boating, swimming, and having his beloved cats, Razzi and Bobbi-Jim around him all the time.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Karen; his daughter, Alison Brown; and her mother, Annette Poirier, both of Bangor; his parents, William Brown of New York City and Patricia Dineen of Florida; his sister, Lori Dineen-Ader and her husband Rich of Florida; his mother-in-law, Janet St. Ann; and many dear friends.
Friends may call at the Fort Covington Presbyterian Church, Saturday, beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of his funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Due to floral allergies, flowers are kindly declined, those wishing to honor Jim may donate to the Westville Volunteer Fire and Rescue in his memory.
