Helen Anne (LaRue) Mullarney, 91, formerly of Middlebury Ave Massena, passed away early Sunday morning (December 9, 2012). She was born July 2, 1921 in Massena, the daughter of Franklin and Mary (Carville) LaRue.
Helen graduated from Massena Central School in 1939 and went on to marry her high school sweetheart, L. Barry Mullarney, on August 27, 1942 at the Church of the Sacred Heart. After working for several local businesses and raising her family, she worked for Massena Central Schools as a secretary in the
nurse's office. Her husband, Barry, predeceased Helen on January 29, 1999.
She was also predeceased by her sisters, Elizabeth (Steffen), Ilene (Sutton) and brothers, Kenneth, Charles, and Paul LaRue.
Helen is survived by her three sons, Patrick (Audrey) of Lebanon, CT, Michael (Susan) of Glenville, and Thomas (Karen) of Baldwinsville; her brothers, Philip of Green Cove Springs, FL, and John of Massena; seven grandchildren, Alison, Matthew, Kathryn, Angela, Timothy, Erin, and Daniel; and seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Helen was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. She also enjoyed listening to music, working crossword puzzles, and attending family gatherings.
Family and friends may call at the Phillips Memorial Home, Massena Friday evening (December 14, 2012) from 4-7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held for Helen on Saturday (December 15, 2012) at 10:00 a.m., at the Church of the Sacred Heart with Rev.
