A memorial service for 87 years young Mr. Gordon C. Daby will be held Friday, February 22, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the Hopkinton Congregational Church with Rev. Charles Gardner officiating. A spring interment will be in the Chapel Hill Cemetery in Parishville. Mr. Daby died at Massena Memorial Hospital on February 15th, 2013. He was a life long resident of Hopkinton.
Survivors include two sons, Dale G. Daby and his wife Jean M. Daby of Arlington, WA, and Terry G. Daby and his wife Evonne Daby of Thorton, CO; a sister, Mrs. Harold (Edna) Potter of Potsdam; two brothers, Robert (and his wife Joyce) Daby of the Town of Colton, and Gilbert (and his wife Jane) Daby of Parishville; and six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Gordon was born in Lake Placid, on May 1, 1925 the son of Gordon W. and Luella (Colton) Daby. He attended Parishville High School, and served in the US Army during WWII. Gordon owned and operated a farm in the Town of Hopkinton for many years. A marriage to June C. Crane ended in divorce. He married Maisie (Bullock) Tebo in 1977. She pre-deceased him December 16, 2008.
If friends desire memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Hopkinton Congregational Church, Hopkinton-Ft. Jackson Fire Dept., or to the Tri-Town Rescue Squad.
