Graveside services for 94 year old Gladys M. Adams, 9 Prairie Street, Norwood, will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in Bixby Cemetery, Norfolk with Rev. Msgr. Harry Snow presiding. Mrs. Adams passed away early Wednesday morning at Canton-Potsdam Hospital.
Gladys is survived by her daughter, Arloene Morgan, Norwood; her five grandchildren, Kenneth and Rona McGrath, Patty Orologio, Amy and Eric Gaumes, Charles Spencer, Laura Measheaw, Mary Merkley and Todd Phillips; several great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Regina Barner, Burleson, TX.
Gladys was predeceased by her husband; three brothers, Glenford Newtown, Lowell Newtown and Bernard Newtown; her sisters, Erdine Shorette, Geraldine Brothers and Kaye Craw; and a great grandson, Dustin Berger.
She was born in Norfolk on May 17, 1918 to the late Frank and Agnes Christian Brothers. She married Kenneth P. Adams on December 27, 1941. Ken passed away in 1982. Gladys was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, knitting and working on crossword puzzles. She also loved to play cards.
