Garrett J. Phillips, age 12, of Potsdam, passed away suddenly on Monday, October 24, 2011 at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital. Arrangements are with the Garner Funeral Service in Potsdam.
Online condolences can be sent to www.garnerfh.com. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 28, 2011 at 10 a.m. at the Knapp Station Community Church with Pastor Lee Sweeney celebrant. Burial will follow the service at the Chapel Hill Cemetery in Parishville. Friends may call at the Garner Funeral Service on Thursday, October 27, 2011 from 3-7 p.m. Contributions in Garrett’s memory can be made to the charity of one’s choice.
Garrett is survived by his mother, Tandy Cyrus; brother Aaron Collins; stepfather Casey Collins; maternal grandparents, Joseph and Janet Paul; paternal grandparents, Robert and Patricia Phillips; uncles Brian Phillips and Eric Paul; and his aunt, Tonya Cyrus.
He was predeceased by his father, Robbie Phillips.
Garrett J. Phillips was born on August 13, 1999 in Potsdam, to Robbie Phillips and Tandy Cyrus. Garrett was currently a sixth grade student at the A.A. Kingston Middle School in Potsdam. Garrett loved the outdoors. He enjoyed going to camp and riding his four-wheeler and going hunting and fishing. Garrett was also very active in Potsdam sports. He played football, soccer, hockey, basketball and lacrosse.
